Agentic AI Against Aging | 2025
An online hackathon on agentic AI and longevity science, run under the HackAging.ai banner from 7 to 25 October 2025. It drew 751 participants across 26 countries, and 54 teams filed submissions against a $42,000 prize pool. Mastering DeSci | 2025
The iGEM Community, the standing body around the international synthetic biology competition, ran a 2025 project called the DeSci SynBio Hub, set up to connect decentralized science to synthetic biology. Its centerpiece was Mastering DeSci: Foundations of Decentralized Science, a four-week online course for researchers and early-career scientists, covering blockchain and smart contracts, tokenized research outputs, DAO governance and decentralized grant funding, IP-NFTs and open data, decentralized publishing and peer review, and how they interface with wet-lab research. The curriculum was complemented by weekly sessions given by speakers from established DeSci organizations. We were one of them, alongside deScier, ValleyDAO and MuseMatrix.

Liberland 10th Anniversary | 2025
Ten years of the Free Republic of Liberland, a libertarian micronation declared in 2015 on the Danube River between Serbia and Croatia ("the freest country in the world and the first meritocratic republic governed on blockchain"). The anniversary was celebrated 11–13 April 2025 at the Ark village on the Serbian bank: more than 200 attendees and some 35 speakers, plus a conference day on decentralized societies and governance. We were invited to join a panel on decentralized science, space exploration and Liberland's own space program.
ZuVillage Georgia | 2024
A pop-up village in the Georgian mountains, 20 July to 31 August 2024, descended from Zuzalu and organized around cypherpunk politics and d/acc — defensive, decentralized acceleration. Several hundred residents passed through over the two months, and the program ran as themed weeks across privacy, cryptography, collective intelligence, decentralized science, longevity and biotech. We went with fellows from the MuseMatrix cohort. The space acceleration week, run by the space/acc community as a summit and hackathon covering space infrastructure, manufacturing, medicine, travel and policy, is where we first presented the concept of the Spacefarer Phenome — the collection of genetically determined human traits that would have to hold up under the stress of space travel.

A six-month accelerator for decentralized science, run out of London by the organizers of DeSci London. We joined the inaugural 2024 cohort: traditional scientists, alongside web3, cryptography and AI developers. For two months each discipline taught the others its own field, followed by four months of building open-source DeSci tooling in small teams, closing with a demo day.
Psi Combinator | 2023
A four-week accelerator for decentralized science, run out of New York and billed by its organizers as a pop-up research lab. The first cohort met through June and July 2023 and closed with a demo day on 21 August, held jointly with DeSciNYC. We laid out four development tracks for clearing extra- and intracellular glycation damage: de novo enzyme design, a metagenomic screen, in silico directed evolution of putative deglycases, and enhanced glyoxalase I for diabetic kidney disease • deck
Hypothesis Prize | 2023
The opening round of The Longevity Prize, launched by VitaDAO with the Foresight Institute. It asked one question — what is the most promising but underappreciated or obscure area of longevity science we should pursue? — and took answers of one to three pages, scored by a panel of twenty-two judges. The first VitaDAO Longevity Hackathon, run online by LongHack over 20–22 January 2023 after an ideation weekend. Hundreds registered and ten teams made the final round. We pitched an engineered glyoxalase I for diabetic kidney disease, and won: 5,500 VITA and 3,500 USDC.
